Only child status ends soon… (shirt by ChicADeeEmbroidery)
There comes a time in almost every parents’ lives when they decide the time is right to increase the size of their family. Well, that time has come for myself, Sarah, and Sophia! That’s right, we’re expecting, again!
Baby Brownie number two, as he or she will be known for the time being, will be arriving somewhere around the first week of September. We don’t yet know the sex of the baby, but so far things are looking great. Sarah is feeling great so far, and again we’ve been blessed with zero morning sickness. None for her either…
We’ve known for a while that we wanted to have a second child, but weren’t exactly sure of the timing or exactly how far apart we wanted our kids to be. My siblings and I are all right around two years apart, and I’ve always felt that was a good age difference. Sophia and Baby Brownie number two will be just about two and a half years apart.
Sophia seems to be excited, although I’m not so sure she really understands exactly what is happening. She does know that “there is a baby in Mommy’s belly”. We’ll see how she reacts as the due date gets nearer and nearer.
While there is still quite a ways to go in this pregnancy, it’s a very exciting time for us. Yeah, sure, we realize that things are about to change. Again. Like, getting even less sleep than we do now, as if that was possible. Sure, money is going to be non-existent, but that comes with the territory. Really, what I’m saying is that we have no idea what we are expecting now that we’re expecting again.
When I started writing this blog two years ago, we were just about to have Sophia, and I didn’t really write about the entire pregnancy process. Now, I’ll have that chance to share those experiences with all of you. More updates to come!
As always, comment, like, and share!
Woo hoo! Congratulations Nick. We are in the same boat, with us expecting our twins any time soon. I love the title of your blog post too because it’s so true; you don’t really know what to expect sometimes! I have the same concerns as you too—sleep deprivation, money, new responsibilities, balancing more than one kid… sigh! It’ll be an exciting ride I’m sure!
