When it comes to life with a two-year-old, you know that you’re going to end up having some insane conversations with them, that make no sense, that make you laugh, and many, MANY times are going to make you laugh until you either A) cry B) pee yourself.
So, you can imagine my delight when I came upon the YouTube channel for Convos With My 2 Year Old. I’m not kidding when I tell you that watching videos of a dad’s actual conversations with his 2-year old daughter… as re-enacted by him and another full-grown man, is like watching my own life. Granted, I don’t re-enact conversations I have with Sophia with another full-grown man (and I’m kicking myself for not coming up with the idea, because it’s brilliant), but the topics, the crazy things said, all remind me of my life.
Here is the first episode from their first season. It’s awesomely hilarious. They recently started releasing episodes for their second season.
To be honest, my favorite part of these videos, aside from laughing hysterically at them, is watching them with Sophia. She LOVES them. She’s watched them so many times that she’s memorized the lines and repeats them verbatim. Even if we aren’t talking about them.
She especially loves this one about pants. Thanks to this, she yells at random times: “The tag HURTS me, it HURTS!” and “I’m not wearing ANY pants!” It’s hilarious. Well, to me, anyway.
So go watch their videos, ALL of them. Even if you don’t have kids, chances are you’ve interacted with a 2-year-old and have walked away from the conversation saying to yourself “what the heck just happened?!”
I was laughing so much when I first saw these clips. It just goes to show how crazy our conversation with kids sound!
